Guatemala: week 1
At the DFW [Dallas Fort Worth] airport✈️.
On the plane! There was TV's in front of everybody.Me [Abby] and Anna LOVED them.
The 'courtyard' of our apartment in Antigua, Guatemala. It is beautiful place to stay❤️.
Joseph[right] and Sophia[left] playing soccer at Antigua Green School Summer Camp. P.S. None of the teachers speak English in the morning, but the art teacher spoke a tiny bit.
On the 2nd day of Summer Camp, I got sick and stayed home. The doctor came. After he came I threw up.🤮☹️.I had to stay home again tomorrow. The doctor also said I had a sickness similar to strep throat.I might of brought it from TX or Summer Camp.He also mentioned that eating frozen treats such as ice cream and popsicles will help soothe my throat.I read a Wrinkle in Time and listened to an audio book called Mr. Popper's penguins.I did a bit of Spanish Duolingo, a all-language program. Anna created an account, but Joseph and I used our school accounts.
On the 3rd day, I felt a LOT better.I never would have guessed Mom would give me any frozen treats, but, sure enough, as shown above Mom got me a chocolate popsicle.
On the last day of the week, the big group [me and Joseph]went to eco farms for a field trip. No one spoke English. Not a word.
On Saturday, we went to an art gallery in the mountains. It was owned by a hotel called Santa Domingo that used to be a monastery that Monks lived in. it was a long walk to get to the bus stop, because it was on the edge of Antigua. The bus took you out of Antigua and unto the mountains. The bus was free because it was owned by the hotel[that was very rich], and plus, only one other family was in the comfy bus, and that family was small.
